You Are Never Out Of God's Reach

You Are Never Out Of God's Reach | August 30, 2023

A farmer found a little girl lost in his meadow. The farmer said to her, "Do not cry; I'll take you home." The small child snuggled up to him and, with a smile, said, "I knew you would; I was waiting for you." "Waiting for me?" said the man. "What made you think I was coming?" "I was praying you would," she said. "Praying? When I first heard you, you were saying A B C D E F G. What was that for?" She looked up again and said, "I'm just a little girl. I was praying all the letters of the alphabet and letting God put them together in the way He wanted to. He knew I was lost, and He knew how to put them together better than I did."

Like this sweet little girl, we sometimes get lost in the meadows of life. Typically, loneliness and discouragement follow. As a result, our prayers become stagnant, and eventually, all desire to talk to God might cease. Thankfully, God knows our hearts. He knows our thoughts before we do. He knows what we will say in prayer before we utter a word. For example, Psalm 139:4 says, concerning God's knowledge of you, "You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord."

Even when we can't pray, God allows the Holy Spirit to speak on our behalf in a way only the Holy Trinity recognizes. Romans 8:26-27 says, "And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don't know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will."

With the promises of Romans 8:26-27 in mind, you can walk forward confidently, knowing that God is fully aware of you and your needs. He knows exactly where you are and what He will do for you.

No meadow or valley is beyond our Father's reach!
