Believe What God Says About You | September 16, 2023

College Football Champion and former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow exemplifies believing what God says about you. Born in the Philippines to missionary parents, Tim's parents trusted God for their son. Their faith was tested from the very beginning. Tim's mom, Pamela, contracted an illness that caused complications for her pregnancy. Doctors told the Tebow family to abort Tim because they were expecting him to be, at best, a stillborn baby. Instead, they trusted God, and on August 14, 1987, Tim was born and would become one of College football's biggest stars.

‌In a documentary about Tim's football experience at the University of Florida, the star quarterback explained that his parents regularly told him how significant his life was and that God had a plan for him. He said that when "you hear that enough, you start believing it!"

‌There is no doubt that one of Tim's assets is his attitude, and that stems from him believing what his parents said about him. They essentially passed on their conviction of God's promises and power through encouragement to their son.

‌Likewise, we need to believe what God has said about us! You may get that message through your parents if you are young, as Tim did for many years. Perhaps your life has had some miracle moments as well. Or you're receiving that encouragement from your time with God at church and in your devotionals. Either way, God wants to speak life in your mind and heart so you can fulfill the plans He has for you. But you cannot do that if you believe the lies of fear and doubt that others want to speak over you. Even our own negative thoughts hold us down.

‌Therefore, let us focus on what God has said and what He can do in and through us because He has the final say.

‌Proverbs 16:1-3 says, "We humans make plans, but the Lord has the final word. 2 We may think we know what is right, but the Lord is the judge of our motives. 3 Share your plans with the Lord, and you will succeed."

‌Ephesians 2:10 declares, "For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago."

‌Remember, God loves you, and He has a plan for you. Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."
