Refuse To Give Up Home

Life has a way of serving up second and third helpings of discouragement. As a result, despair can set in and compound your difficulty. In those situations, your best recourse is to wait on God and find hope in His promises in the Scriptures.

‌Psalm 130:5 says, "I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word, I hope…" While this verse is true, you must realize that temptation will significantly increase while waiting for a breakthrough. You will be tempted to quit, to run, or to sin. Rather than making irrational decisions or numbing your pain with sinful pursuits, learn how to wait on God and gain hope simultaneously.

‌One of my favorite songs captures the essence of waiting and finding hope. Johnny Walker's "While I am Waiting" provides the following instructions:

I'm waiting on You, Lord

And I am hopeful

I'm waiting on You, Lord

Though it is painful

But patiently, I will wait. I will move ahead, bold and confident

Taking every step in obedience

Though it's not easy

‌Regardless of the size of your problem, remain patient with God's timing and find hope in His promises. Remember, God does His best work when we are willing to trust Him in our time of need.
